Generally most Marathi movies arrive very late abroad, so much that most of the buzz around them has already slowed down… but you got this movie in it’s very first week! आत्ताच लंडनमध्ये “आंनदी गोपाळ” चित्रपट बघितला. अप्रतिम! Class!
एखाद्या प्रसिद्ध व्यक्तीवर किंवा पुस्तकावर आधारित चित्रपट बनवणे सोपे नसते. संदर्भ चुकले तर बोंबाबोंब होते. जरा सर्जनशीलता आणली तर “हे सिनेमावाले cinematic liberty च्या नावाखाली काहीपण करतात” हे ही होतेच. पण “आंनदी गोपाळ” चित्रपट असा घडवलाय की तुम्हाला आनंदी आणि गोपाळ जोशी यांचे आयुष्य माहिती असो वा नसो, तरीही, पहिल्या दृश्यापासुन, अखेरच्या दृश्यापर्यंत, तुम्ही ते आयुष्य त्यांच्याबरोबर जगत जाता.
त्या दोघांच्या प्रेम – आदर – आकांक्षा – संघर्षाच्या कथेत गुंतुन जाता.
त्या दोघांचा संघर्ष काय होता आणि किती महत्वाचा होता ह्याचा अंतर्मुख होवुन विचार करत जाता.
त्याचबरोबर आपण आत्ता कीती सुटसुटीत, taken-for-granted, privileged आयुष्य जगतोय ह्याचाही विचार करत जाता.

ps: मी मॅंचेस्टरहुन लंडनला बऱ्याचवेळा नाटक-सिनेमा बघायला धावत am-pm trip करतो. मित्रांना अाश्चर्य-कौतुक वाटत, कधी भंकसपण होते. पण “आंनदी गोपाळ” सारखा चित्रपट बघण्यासाठी मी एकदा काय दहा वेळा trip करीन!?
